 the snow was added in post with a brush I created using a tutorial I linked to in a discussion when this challenge was in shooting and is intentionally only falling on her. the snow globe was added in post. i had my daughter hold a soccer ball to get the pose right and i took a picture of the only snow globe i had with her jacket behind it to get the realistic pink color showing through and overlaid it. I replaced the background with another part of the same image that was then scaled up and stretched and blurred to isolate her more. finally i just added some split toning to set the colors to purple and pink hues and what was supposed to be a subtle glow around the ball.

i love the image composition and feel and thought behind this, i think the globe execution was well thought out but was not as well done. Congrats :O)

awwww so cute. A little girl in the snow with her snow globe! Hello Kitty ear-muffs and all! The tree in the snow globe is a little to out there and in your face for me. I don't know if you boosted this of if that is how it came out but it is a bit distracting to me. One other thing I noticed first off is that it seems the snow is centered on her and not the whole photo. I don't know if this is correct or not but did you drop the snow on her? Overall=7

i really like the concept and most of the elements - but the 'blob' of white in front of the girl is not working for me

Very pretty and definitely magical. It's odd that the snow doesn't cover the whole fame but a very minor nit considering the rest. Love the hint of pink in the background that really pops the jacket color.
