Northern Mallards, mated pair. Anas platyrhynchos The reason you need to know is that you have the coloration wrong between the bold white wing bars. It is a metallic blue-purple color, not purple. Maynard Reese would have a fit.

| Great capture - too good for the prominent vignette to encroach upon it I would suggest. |
