The Rules state: "You should keep your entry photographic in nature. Though violating this guideline is not grounds for disqualification, voters are encouraged to rate entries accordingly."

What does it mean, "photographic in nature?"

Photography requires human vision. If it resembles the end result of human vision, then is it "photographi in nature?" Maybe.

Except people don't see with their eyes Images are created by the brain based on simple signals sent from the eyes representing edges, shapes, and motion. It takes a year or more for a human to learn to see. The eyes don't send completed "photographic in nature" images to the brain. People learn to see by practicing.

It is well known that people see what they're looking for, what they believe they can see. That's what makes optical illusions work. But, everything one person thinks they see is not all there is to see.

There is no way for one person to be accurately aware of what another person sees. The name for the thing seen may match, but there is no way to be certain that the images match exactly. This is especially true of color.

We see what we think we can see. The camera doesn't think, it just collects light. It isn't photography until it's processed & a human can see it. We recognize a photograph because of the way it's processed. So if the brain identifies it as a photograph, then it's photographic in nature.

Perhaps they mean more photographic than photoshoppic in nature.

Ha! When I looked at the title I thought it read JACKSON POTLUCK. Cool image and I'm sure someone has already pointed out that it's Pollock and not Polluck...unless you're trying to be funny...or just brilliant or something. Anyway, I really dig the shot.

I love this entirely. This is really a masterpiece. I'm going to favorite this image when the challenge is over. It's very cubist in a modern way. Excellence.

Ummm, yeah, if you splattered your camera on a canvas to get this shot like what Jackson Pollock would do with paint then that's just wrong LOL. Or it could be a declaration of being dedicated to creating art. Not sure how well it is doing in this challenge but I am sure that this would be better accepted in an Abstract challenge. It is a very cool abstract piece with dynamic shapes and motion.

Love the abstract nature of this. Granted, Jackson Pollock was a great abstract painter... but making it "digital art" would be him doing it wrong.
The title is what brought this image together.
Great work.
