 USM 50%, radius 3.2, threshold 2.
Auto levels. Used 250 watt bulb in front of subject, was quiet hot! Shot with no flash. Use 75 watt house lamp behind.

This certainly meets the challenge and the I like the concept. I would have used a weaker backlight, if not I would have turned the hand more to avoid the burnout on the thunb and nail.

I'm not one usually picky, but more detail in the pencil (I think it's a pencil), and this would have been flawless for me! 9
