Such an amazing month for photos. Some months I struggle to find one or two shots that I think might be worthy of a free study. Other months it seems like everything is going my way, and I just can't help but have great experiences and photos. I literally had dozens of photos I could have chosen to represent my month.
But this one just consistently stood out amongst those greats as something extraordinary. The way the curves cut through the scene, only to be interrupted by the crashing waves. The trees glowing brightly with the autumn colors. The fade into the distance because of the rain coming down.
What was that last part? Rain? That's right, this was taken when it was foggy, rainy, and an all together unpleasant day (except for the photos and company). As I framed this shot and took some images, I liked the composition. But as I looked at it on the computer screen, the scene was dull and flat. But wait, Topaz Adjust 5 can do magic on a photo like this. I ran it through a preset I had created, made some minor tweaks, and wall-a, a masterpiece is born.
At least I think it's a masterpiece, and what really counts is what I think :) |
