 The Carmelites are an order of nuns who serve the Church in a unique way—through solitude, devotion to God, and service to Man. They are humble, gentle women who spend their lives praying for those they do not even know.They withdraw from the world in order to serve it.
In a noisy world this community of devout Christian women rejects the trappings of materialism and the rush of daily living. They live a hermits life in order to give the world the gift of their love and prayers. The Carmalite Nuns, as part of their mission, take a vow of silence.

Just bumped this earlier tonight. It's a great idea and may be a real portrait but it feels staged so I resisted quite awhile. Top five because it's a lovely portrait and fits the challenge so well. Voted earlier.

Beautiful. Great balance and colors, although the green fringing around the tree trunks is quite pronounced. I think just a tiny bit of vignetting might have also helped focus our eye on the nun.
