 Another of my fav models is dying
I have shot this lone tree on many occasions.
It seems to be falling apart and may soon be dust ... alas

Wish I could brighten in PS also would up the contrast a wee bit

Oh no! That tree was such an icon in your tree shots. It is a shame that it is nearing it's end:-( The B&W suits the mood and plays into the cycle of life motif - it is not sunny nor bright, but winter and end of season has come into play in nature's cycle of life and death. I agree with your assessment in that a bit of a boast in contrast would help make the tones of light and shadow a bit more dynamic and bold.

Yes, I can see this as you would edit it - it is fine as is but could be quite splendid. Nice finish in a tough challenge.

This is a great shot! The solemn theme has total fluidity from the title to the B&W image and grey sky to the broken branch to the dying/dead tree standing completely alone.

Definitely one of my favorites!
