I grabbed a shot of my son playing with a Light Bright. I know it is not great, but what the heck...

Thanks for all the comments. However, I wish everyone would have known that it wasn't set up! I'll remember to put something in the title next time to relay that.

I was washing the dishes when I looked over and saw my son playing with the light bright. My first thought was "BACKLIGHT!". I ran and grabbed the camera and used a cereal box for a base :-)

This was the best pic of the group because his hand was over the bulb, and his head was at just the right angle.

Thanks to all,
Chad

Cute shot.
I might have tried draping something over the chair and moving it so that there was a clear wall behind the head of the child - putting all the focus on the the child and the light. Instead, I'm trying to figure out what's behind his head. Another idea would be to have the light on a flat top surrounded by clear surface that would have accentuated the pattern that the light is throwing on the walls. But I think the back of the chair and the frame on the wall detract from the impact.

The main subject, (the boy) and the light source are very well done and then the chair seems to be almost an afterthought?

Nice photo. I like the simplicity.

I think this would be better if u moved the chair and the kid to the right so u had a plain backround. The picture frame and electrical socket are a bit distracting. 5

B&W works very well on this one, nice contrast.

Very clever! A few suggestions. A slightly better placement of the chair, in order to eliminate the clutter around the child's head and back would have been helpful to the composition, and a slight adjustment to the angle of your camera would have straightened out the position better. I would also liked to have seen a POV giving us a better look at the child's face, but that's really just personal preference.
The shadows from the lite-brite give and excellent feel to the shot, and the chair is a nice balance to the child. Great idea :)

Love the B&W - the pattern of the dots on the walls is great. Would like it better without the frame on the left side.
