10-15-2012 Send PM to Admin about title. Musical notes were in the title all throughout voting. Error occurred when I made an correction in text in the Details box after rollover.

Inspired by Tanguera's nothing left to say I worked out a way to get the same effect using a camera.

My eldest thankfully agreed to do the photo shoot, but only 8 shots. Propped a 24x36 empty picture frame on two bar stools, sprinkled glass bead stars, glass diamonds, and had my daughter lay her head down spreading the hair around. I then covered her with the same fabic combo I used for the blanket in my Nursery Rhymes entry.

Reflections were the problem - had my daughter dress in black and surrounded the area with black cloth on and around the bar stools to eliminate reflection of ground back onto the glass. Set the camera on A-Depth and timer and just had to hope it would focus in the right areas while I waved the light around to illuminate.

The 'shooting star' and 'sun' are accidental reflections from the light shining on the glass. When I saw this exposure I fell in love with it even thought it is not perfect.

The one thing that I wish I had done is turn all the stars facing the beveled side to the camera. I had some beveled side and the flat side on the glass. The flat side did not catch the light as much and those look like dark stars.

Added Info about fabric layering

Just wanted to clarify what I meant about fabric combo. I used the cloth from My Ducktor Who shot and combining it with some royal blue tulle with silver studs/gems woven in. I laid them on top of one another. You can see that the tulle fell more flat/closer to the glass - especially in the top right portion where the sheen of the fabric picked up the light more.

Oh Chrystyne, if I do nothing else in my life but serve as inspiration to someone to create images like this, I will be blessed. Congrats on figuring out a "legal" way to do this very interesting capture method.

This is so odd - and I can't decide if I feel it is a good capture or not. But the quirkiness is what grows on me. It's strange art that makes you look at it for a while.

Clearly created for the challenge and nicely done, too. I like the closed eye and her hair is great!
