Critique Club Assignment

Initial: What an unusual area for me to see. I like the contrast between the color of the sky, and the browns in the grass and trees.

Composition: Nice choice to put the bus shack to one side, however I am thinking it would be better to have placed it on the right side..my eye, though at first captured by the scene beyond, keeps going around the corner and into the dark hollow of the shack and subsequently out of the picture to the left, where I have to start over by looking into the distance where the pattern repeats.

Technical: Again, the colors are wonderful.. Love the earthy feel. The clarity of detail is excellent as I can see the differences in the bark of the trees, and yet even the larger limbs of the distant tree on the hill.

Impact: This stops me, but doesn't say wow. It is somewhere in between. I think it may be because of the position of the shack...

I didn't vote on this challenge, but I would say I would have given this a 7-8.

Does this ever take me back years. The old country school bus stops. Hate to admit how many years ago that was. Looks almost like Ohio or WVa. And it's a beautiful photo with great depth. I'd love to be standing on top of that knoll. This is a 9. PTL

At least it's not completely covered with advertising...

Beautiful composition. I especially like the way the fence and the horizon divide the photo into horizontal sections. The sky looks incredible.

One can only wonder what the bus might look like. I'm picturing old and dusty like the stop, or maybe brightly colored. Very nice pic, good exposure, love the colors. 9

A very nice setting with great colours and light. The picture suffers, though, from the composition with the opening of the shed being crammed into the corner.

Well balanced and toned with creativity. I wish there were more to rate like yours =). My only suggestion would have been to sharpen the image a little more to bring out the grass and shack in the foreground. Excellent!

Nice shot. I especially like the way you've framed the background with the trees yet resisted the urge to stick the bus stop (!?) in the middle of them. Well done.

That's a lovely photo. It feels very Australian (to a local at least). Lovely colours and composition.
