 Encouraged by this thread, Some Thoughts on "Street Photography" posted by bvy, I ventured around around downtown Toronto looking for some opportunities - a little frightening at the beginning but loosened up after a while, and had a great time, as a matter of fact. Good exercise to be attentive to what's happening around, and got few interesting shots, from which I found this one the most interesting.

I could see the lady on left and the construction worker would cross paths and I got ready... the woman in the middle was a bonus - they are all have their both hands carrying different things and going in different directions - kind of cool...
This is the city hall square, which is under renovation, so I am not much thrilled with bg, but considering hundreds of people around I`m glad I just got these 3 in the frame.

I just have my doubts the voters will be thrilled as myself, let`s see...

Many thanks to my fellow DPCers LongShots teammates Tommy, Dennis, Alex & Mita, and my wife and daughter - who I engaged to get ideas for the title. I picked the daughter`s one... ;-)

Thanks for the mention. This one worked for me. I've been known to shadow people for blocks if they're carrying something interesting. What I find especially striking about this shot is that your subjects seem privy to your plan -- the knowing smiles and very deliberate strides. A success, I'd say.

I don't think the safety vest detracts from the story, it's PART of the story. He's a construction worker! The yellow bag and the red rimmed container all are part of the story and would not be of impact if this were in monochrome. Great work George, great timing and waiting for the right moment to open the shutter. Should have scored way higher, I think street photography is misunderstood by most and not appreciated for the subtle aspects.

Agreed with all the other positive comments. This was in a three way tie for best so far as I was concerned. Even better that you did it with a 50 :)

Nicely seen and captured. Did you try B&W as the color here is a bit overpowering and detracts from the story.

The Courtney Love looking woman is excellent, the garishness of the safety jacket distracts a bit/ perhaps in monotone?
