 Thanks for the nice comments everyone! Got to borrow my friend's light, which was fun. Since I travel so much my chance to work with lights is few and far between.

Can I take this moment to plug my blog about sustainable living? ;)

this smile was one of my favorits also, I think that this DQ is stupid. a little common sense wouldn't heart anybudy..I think that the ruls here are hard and for outsiders photographers-hard to undrstand. it's a nightmare to figure out if all the rulls are cept.
sometimes I find myself uploading an image to advnaced editing with basic edit just because I didnt't understand the exceptions.
they DQ my best photo..and it was blue on free study..i was very upset, i stoped my member ship for few months just to cool down..
yet, since this is the only place on earth that photogrphers vote without knowing who is the photogrpher, make me stay and try again.:)

I know we have never been formally introduced ..(I'm Josh). I wanted to take a second before I started basking in the glow of my first ribbon to come by and tell you that I think it is complete crap about your DQ. I hate that your shot was DQ'd on such a trivial little thing as a future date. I felt letting you know how I felt was the proper thing to do and wanted you to know that I take no pleasure in benefiting from your loss. BTW like your blog and that smile was really great. Good luck in the future and hope to see you back on the front page again soon.

Beautiful smile, from experience I know how bad it feels to get that email with the DQ when you know if was taken within the legal time frame. I hate to see a really nice image like this get DQ'd but no one can take away how beatiful the image is.

Because I magically submitted it from the future with my magic powers. Or else the logical explanation, I DID shoot it in the right time and my camera was still set for Korea.

Yay inflexible ridiculous rules. I love them!

Fabulous image. You did an excellent job with the borrowed lights. Congrats on the ribbon and belated happy birthday. It is good to see you getting back in the challenges -- you are providing serious competition (not that there was not generally more than I can handle already).

I get yelled at all the time for smiling on one side of my face in all the photos I smile for. I guess it just looks better! Lol.
