Something about Ons island:
Ons constitutes a small archipelago formed by islands and satellite islands situated at the entrance of Pontevedra’s river and its natural protection.
Ons Island, with its 4.9 km long, is the most extensive island in the peninsular Atlantic. The western part of the island is more scarped, with high cliffs, while the eastern part is softer and has numerous beaches.
It seems to be, because of the archaeological pieces left that the island was inhabit since remote times and suffered along the history many pirate and Viking attacks and for a couple of times was almost converted into military enclave which, fortunately, ended in nothing. In 1955 the island had more than 500 habitants. Beginning from this date, this number decreased rapidly, in 1975 they did not reach 200, and in 1986 only 16 people lived in Ons.
Due to the long isolation of its habitants the island culture is filled with myths and superstitions of a big anthropological interest and a popular medicine based on medicinal herbs.

Another photo that will be difficult to critique.
Trust me, it isnât easy with so many good shotâs in this challenge.
And there's not much more to add to the comments you allready recieved.
From the comments I filtered a few, one sayâs there is too much rock, the other sayâs he likes the rocks.
I myself think they give more perspective so I say I like the rocks.
I think you had to score a bit higher with this photo, but the competition was really tough this time (I know, I entered) so be happy with your photo and the place it ended. It shows you have an eye for good compositions.
If you ask me, why it scored lower then some others, I can only say this.
Itâs really a photo that would go into a travel guide, but it doesnât show anything really exiting. Its rocks and water. And I think that would be the reason why it didnât score better.
I say it again, I think this is a good picture, there is nothing that you must improve (well maybe the sky a bit) but the subject is just not as exiting as some other photoâs in this challenge.
I took the liberty to visit your profile and found another photo that I really liked, I gave a comment on that too.
Keep up the good work.
Grrrrtttzzzz

Pleasant scene although weather has made this quite flat. Looks like some shad/hilite filter has left some haloing and colour mismatch from top to bottom. Also appears to be some obvious cloning on the top right.
Happy 8 to you! First one I've handed out...This is a fairly typical type of travel photo shot, but this is what the challenge is all about!
I see a little bit of mist in the background and I really wish there was more in the foreground (not so much that you can't see the island, of course)...
On the right lines, certainly. I find the foreround light a bit flat and uninviting - I think you could have used more contrast in that area quite happily. The composition also lacks something - there's almost a line of elements directly up the centre of the frame, and maybe if you could have framed this toa llow the gaze to sweep through the shot, rather than to be led directly up it, it would be more satisfying. Perhaps also the horizon is a bit too far up in the shot? The light in the sky and the clouds there seems inviting, but one's eye is so close to the edge by the time one sees it ... But good work, all the same.
I think you could've cropped a little off the bottom as that much rock in the foreground is a little unnecessary. I would've also divided the image into thirds, consisting of foreground, middleground, and background/sky. I like the hues in the sky but unfortunately, the rocks and light reflecting off the water are pretty drab. A polarizer might've helped this shot.
This is an amazing perspective photo. Love the rocks in the foreground and the scenery in general. I do have issues with the big hill in the upper right corner, some minor focusing issues and the sky. The hill just feels out of place in a scene such as this. It would have been much better without that. The sky has a funny light purple tint and looks odd. Overall great photo.
