[greslizzz]: I don't really know why the result is so bad. I have published similar photos from the same session on other resources and got extremely high marks. Probably most people here considered that it is just a snapshot - there is no obvious pre-staging in the picture...
[Blackdog]: "Sea-doo" is a water motorcycle made by Bombardier, Quebec (Canada). It was so popular in the nineties that riding on the similar watercrafts made by Yamaha, Polaris and even "Jet-ski" by Kawasaki is called 'to sea-doo'. At least here, in Canada ;-)))

Thanks for explaining the process, I was really wondering how it was done.
By the way what is a Sea-doo??? |

I am surprised about your position, it was my favourite picture... what do You think has happened? what is wrong in the picture? You have backlight, great colors and better composition! |

Thanks everyone for your comments!
I would like to explain how this was done.
The "cloudless" sky is in fact a pretty dense pre-thunderstorm fog, so the sun was not very bright. Also I had my Kokin polarizer to cut off the extra water reflections and Kokin 121 neutral gradient filter to workout the sky - thus you can see even some "clouds". The worst problem was to kill purple inner reflections from the lens coating and filters. The colors in the result are quite natural - it looked just like that. You did score high with me (7, all my top picks are 8 (5 of them))
Comments:
Composition is very good, it's an interesting photo but it seems that the focus is on the rocks and that make's the boy's face a bit unsharp, so you could try to improve that. Because of the light you need in front the sky looks washed out and gray, I know its difficult in these light situations but it could be improved (I'm going to buy some filters this weekend) Well, again, I like the composition and hope it ends somewhere high. |

I don't understand how you got this shot. The sun is in a cloudless sky and its reflecting off the sea, the camera is looking straigt into the sun and there's detail in the foreground?? |

I guess it is the expression on the older boys face that speaks and adds interest to this capture.... nice composition as well. A bit blurry overall except the rocks in the foreground. nice try. 8 |
