Pearcer, I wasn't one of those 1, 2, or 3 raters. I was sorta middle of the road (5). The trouble I have with these type of photos is that they lack a central subject; there are lots of subjects in them and you aren't really sure what to concentrate on. I did see backlighting, so I was ok there. I just didn't see a real, standout, 'knock you dead' kind of subject. It was nicely photographed, it just lacked that big punch that a challenge winner needs. Hope that helps. By the way, just because you weren't able to get something that scored really well doesn't mean that all the rest of us were able to do so. (Obviously!) You are in good company. |

did you try a close up on the fountain on the far right? It looks like it would be very interesting for its color and shape. And people will definetly see that it is backlit. nice pic though |

Good example of how to pick out a subject. |

narrow down the subject matter... as in closer up, and this would be a nicer shot. |

Nice light and sharp subject. Composition is a little spread out. I think I would pick one or two of the fountains - perhaps the two on the right - and crop in tight on them. |
