New to the site, and just discovered this image. Looking at the images that placed ahead in this challenge, this should definately be a top five finisher. Keep up the good work! |

I'm very dissapointed that this shot didn't do better. I agree that it was a lot better than the flower shots. Good eye and keep up the great work! |

Can't belive your image didn't do better than it did. How many backlit flowers can you look at?? I did vote for the third place shot, that was fantastic. Having looked at other comments on your entry, the horizon is down a bit to the right but even so, I think you were rather hard done by. Great shot, keep trying. |

The slim Jim composition works great for this composition. |

Fantastic photo! My favorite in this backllighting challenge. I like the neutral tones with the only color in the spinnaker sails. |

I really like how the color of the sails stands out from the desaturated gray sky and water. I also really like the composition. This shot is served well by the cropping you've done. |

Printed onto a plastic substrate, framed and mounted with backlighting, this would be great in some yachting bar or coastal city restaurant. Very nice image. |

Needs a contrast boost - feels a little washed out. Otherwise good image |

Gosh, this image is beautiful. However, I don't think it meets the challenge. The lighting is obviously coming from the side. So this is directional lighting, and not true backlighting. If the sun were directly behind the boats, and you still managed to keep the boats (the subjects) properly exposed, this would be a winner...according to the rules of the challenge.
This image does need to be framed huge. |

Good work, good DOF. true backlighting. The bird has a perfect placing and enough space to make a difference. |

Nice light. Seems very busy. I might have focused on one or just a few boats instead of trying to get so many of them into the frame. |

This certainly has WOW effect. The energy in the sails are very compelling. I might have cropped out the right 1/3 of the pic; it seems to be in a shadow. |
