Hi guys, this is my 3rd entry so again please go easy on me. I understand this is advanced editing but i really didn't want to disturb the beauty of the shot too much. It has been a hideous day today! Nothing but rain but i decided "what the heck" and went outside in my super cool bright red raincoat and snapped a photo of a free standing clock by my flat in Birmingham.

I edited using the following techniques:

Sorted out the light and dark using curves.
I then added a grey scale layer and dodged a copy of the original over the top to add a mysterious lighting effect.
I then cleared some of the extra noise from the lights and from the rain above the clock added stars.

I guess i was trying to get across the point that even though the rain really does suck, beyond it is always clear :).

You really don't want people to go easy on you (honest critiquing is a great way to learn this craft - speaking from 8 years of experience.) That huge raindrop (?) is rather distracting, though.

I like the image and the flare. I might have liked a little crisper focus.

windy title aside, good composition and interesting lighting elements. gl

The huge circle (rain drop?)in the middle of the shot takes all the attention off the clock which should have been the main night time subject.
