Great study Pat. Love the partial spread wing feathers ahead of the body and ending just before the birds head. A nice OOF backround but the fencelines do take away a lot of the attention the bird deserves. Next time Mask and Gaussian Blur as you are allowed to do so in Adv. Editing. |

Taken at the Hawk Conservancy. A conservation charity and award winning visitor centre that has for many years worked in the fields of conservation, education, rehabilitation and the research of birds of prey.
This is the Griffon Vulture who is very much alive and one of a few Griffons at the trust.
They fly free for display and are spectacular to watch.
thankyou so much for great comments :) |

I like this... not so sure what it is about it, but it's striking. |

Oh I love the blurred bokeh of his wings in the foreground. This is really good. I like how the feathers intersect with what is behind him. |

Dramatic and awesome face. I also think it's effective selective focus. However, the backgroud horizontal lines are a distraction. |

Nice shot. It looks like the bird nickyb and ozmaster ribboned with back in February. Only with a haircut. |

Oh. Lovely!
The horizontal lines make me think this bird is captive... but wow! What a lovely image!

Nice touch to photograph the head through the wings. Not sure what to make of the horizontal lines in the background. On the one hand, their repetitive pattern mimics the lines in the wings, which is cool. On the other hand, they distract my attention somewhat from the bird. On balance, though, I like this shot a lot. Well done. |
