Challenge: Backlighting (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Location: Bedroom
Date: Sep 1, 2004
Galleries: Emotive, Portraiture
Date Uploaded: Sep 1, 2004

I had to re-edit this photo because the first time I did it under the advanced editing ruleset, and the photo turned out much better, I might add, although still not what I pictured in my head.

Anyway, post processing is a conversion to black and white, unsharp mask, then levels/curves.

In the advaned rules, I removed where the bag is sticking to the face on the right of the face, to make it not stand out. I had also did lot of dodging abd burning to make the bag more dramatic. I might post that version after voting is done. Maybe.

I ended up using a different photo from the shoot. Both have problems, but I bet I'm going to regret my choice later.

I CANNOT believe this did so bad! I gave it a 7 and really am disapointed that you didn't get a much higher ranking.

You know, this is sick. Never-the-less, there is a gallery somewhere that would love it. Just not me. I'd rate it lower, but it has definite backlighting, detail and contrast. Where's the printing that says, "Danger: Do not place over your head!" ?

hmmmmmmm....a bit of a dark side, and does lean more towards a silouhette...Not real fond of this one.

It took me a while to see what this is. A little frightening now that I see.

Good idea. I would have liked to see more of the head, maybee hands also to break up the composition.

got me to study this one -- thanks for showing a creative side... b&w is a good choice - centered composition works.
