Shot from a footbridge at Preston Railway Station with my new A40. None of the shots taken with the 602 turned out as good!

I deliberately overdid the unsharp mask to enhance the abstract feel.

Critique Club review by Inspzil

Lucky you, you drew me Bod.

Composition - I am a fan of lines and shapes and patterns. This really doesn't hold many of the qualities that I find desirable for a lines type photo. Aside from the "stand behind the yellow line" blurb on the sidewalk, nothing catches my attention. Maybe its just too early in the morning.

Photography - I can't believe you didn't get a good shot with the good cam. (btw my wife loves her 602) Its very hard to tell how the shot really is because of the overdone unsharp mask. It does look like the right exposure. DOF looks good to me.

Processing - I think this pic would be a better abstract type with a lot more processing, to the point of being a digital art candidate vs. a photo.

Overall - Unfortunately I don't have much to offer advicewise to this photo. I don't really like it and I can't see a great deal of potential here. The one thing that does come to mind (that pretty much totally changes the composition) is to concentrate more on the tracks and show them going to infinity as opposed to cutting them off with the camera. Sorry I couldn't offer more help bod. I would if I could. Good luck in the future challenges - Bob

I like the sparsness of this picture, could be seen as an abstract interpretation of contrastion lines. bumped up from 1 to 6 on second pass.
