 Helvetin Järvi in Finnish. The name of the national park. I figured it was a bit of a give away if I stuck a Finnish title on the image!

Not my preferred choice for this challenge, but the one I wanted had a massive power cable bisecting it and I was too lazy and incompetent to try to clone it out!

Post Challenge:
Well a rollercoaster week with scores fluctuating dramatically. Most of the week I was in the 6.8/6.9 region but the last couple of days sent it right down to 6.65. I think this did remarkably well considering in practice this was an incredibly bland sky and very flat light. Amazing what a bit of Silver Effex wizardry can do. I did save my editing steps in SEP as a preset, then if we have another Ansel challenge it won't take me nearly as long to process!

Of course, the day after the challenge submission deadline we got some incredible weather but I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles.

There really was almost no detail in the reflection when looking with the naked eye.

You know what... I like your outtake a little better :) I think it's that there's more of that beautifully ominous sky.

You beat your estimate at rollover handily! Congrats on the top ten with a gorgeous image! AND it made your top five. That's two new entries is the past couple of months!

What I like best about this scene are all the triangles (foreground rocks, trees on the near bank, trees and their reflection on the far bank, wedge of reflected sky) and the way they fit together so nicely. It's a little busy but still nice. 8 - voted earlier

Dramatic sky. Wonderful scene. Pretty good control of detail in the shadows. Some detail lost in the tree reflection in the water, but it's not unnatural. I fully understand why you are presenting a portrait orientation image. The viewer is looking into a canyon/waterway. Feels a little tightly cropped from side to side. Overall, a beautiful image which I expect will be a top 10.
