I can't decide if this is decent or absolute rubbish. I do think it looks absolutely nothing like an Ansel Adams.

I drove for nearly three hours to get to this area, only to realise my battery was low - got a few shots off with the MKIII before switching to my G11.

Travelled up Mount Snowdon but there was just a 50ft visibility at the top.... So you've got one from the bottom!

Like you I was confused and choose to really like it.

I personally like the blown out sky, it adds a nice contrast to the foreground. Should have scored higher.

I am fascinated by what the blown sky does to the river bed. Yes, the title.

You did better than you thought.

I find myself wishing for some detail in the sky. The river and the rocks are very well done.

Nicely done; great bw tones. The sky is a bit too bright on my monitor, but still a nice image. (voted earlier)

Your foreground is nice, with good texture and tones, but the sky is totally blown out. A 2-shot HDR with one shot metering for foreground, and one for background might have worked well here. (voted earlier)

Nice scene, but the sky is a bit blown out, but then again maybe you couldn't of avoided it.

Possibly an overcast sky with snow laden clouds. The sky's lack of features and detail distract from what is an otherwide great job on the rocks and river. Super job of controlling shadow detail.

I love it. Great textures. That single tree to the left is a nice touch. Gives the eye a place to rest, in an unexpected place.

Beautiful. I like this one because of its depth. The tones are perfect.
