 I captured these flying fish skipping away from our ship while on a cruise for Spring Break. Amazing animals... they look like a cross between trout and robins. Naturally I left my longest lens at home, but did have a 1.4X teleconverter with me. The fish are very fast and we were moving about 20 knots, so it was difficult to get sharp focus at a distance of around 150 yards handheld.

Processing: converted each fish and the water separately from the same original for maximum detail, Noise Ninja, USM, saturation, cloned out a few small water specks, added a dark background vignette and some dodge and burn on the water.
