 Black and white portrait of an eight year old Bla, a H´mong girl living in the mountain in northwest Vietnam close to the Chinese border, Sa Pa. She was among ten women and girls who walked with my family and myself some 15 km in the mountains one day early in April, most often smiling and talking but also serious like the moment I shot this image.

Converted to BW in Lightrooms, cropped, some tonal adjustment and adding a vignette, then exported to PS for levels, curves, some spot healing, noise reduction; then resized, added border, sharpened and saved for the web.

walking along beside you and trying to sell you stuff no doubt :) At least that was what happened to me when I was there in November last year. Fascinating place and this is a lovely portrait.
