Kids, aka young goats - the three that donated their time and silly, boundless energy, Eva, Easter and Peter - LOVE to play. That's probably how children got the nickname of *kids*. They ran around, climbed atop the camera bag, jumped on the reflector, climbed atop me...there was no stopping them! Only their nanny, tethered to a nearby tree with a long leadshank so she could eat while her young tormented me, kept them from wandering too far astray. Thanks to Marie for access to the goats, and Diva and Angel for allowing me to shamelessly exploit their young :-)
The playstructure is one of several that I shot, but only this one had the gazebo atop and nice bright poppy colours that I wanted to offset the white and brown of the kids. I shot the playgrounds first, then the goats at approximately the same time of day to catch the fall of light on them, shadows etc.
pp: RAW, crop, brightness/contrast...vibrance/saturation...refined edges, cloning, dodging, burning galore, and a hefty wallop of HDR at the end to make it all into a glorious mess. Hope it works!!! |
