 I'm going at this challenge in a different way than I expect many others to take it. If I were a 5 year old boy, I would really like looking at cool images. I find a macro of a dandelion edited to look like a firework pretty darn cool.

I was disappointed that the sun hid behind the clouds just before I went out. The overcast light was bright, but not dynamic. So I took a small flashlight to point at the subject and brighten it up a bit. This also helped the little water droplets (which I created with a mist bottle) stick out a bit more.

I plan on voting this challenge very highly. Everyone in it deserves high votes for improving the spirits of this little guy. I wonder if others will do the same.

Not sure how to vote on this. Great photo- awesome detail, good composition, nice processing etc. - but I'm not sure how much it would speak to a young boy.

This was a hard challenge for me to know what to shoot... to make a 5 year old boy I've never met, happy.

I like this for Dallas, but unfortunately, I'm suspecting that it's not as fun as others and you're being judged harshly for that. Comparison voting always happens.

A bit more DOF would have upped the votes a bit, I think... more would be in focus.

Kids do enjoy dandelions - hopefully this will make him think of fun times blowing the seeds.
