 This is one of those shots that I nearly drove right past. Just by chance I looked to my left and saw a path leading up towards a tree, and the sun in an interesting position such that I could get everything in the shot. I hit the brakes, and backed up before jumping out to take some bracketed exposures.

Later in the day I was playing with editing, and I merged two of the exposures into an HDR using a vintage style that I have created. This looked really cool, but then the grunge challenge popped in my head. With a cool texture, I could definitely make this into something that could fit well.

I'm better many of the photos here will be run down buildings or studio portraits. Hopefully this one stands out as something a little different.

Post Processing:
* Retouch out some sun flare
* Crop
* White Balance
* Nik HDR Efex Pro
* Clone out a strip of dirt (replaced with grass)
* Apply texture (from here where the author says this is free for use)
* De-vignette bottom of the image
* Increase definition
* Increase saturation and vibrancy
* S curve
* Export as TIFF
* Resize
* Sharpen Edges
* Save as JPEG

To me, this works very well as "grunge" - the texture to the sky enhances and adds, well, texture! The tones work very well, too. Would make a great card.

I would give you a 10 just for that sky. It looks like a dirty window to paradise. Or, maybe a dirty window to a false hope of paradise.
