Congratulations on your first dpc entry! And a brown ribbon to boot! Some folks work really hard for one of them.
It is great to see folks here with a slightly different interpretation of what photography is, and should be. I didn't vote, but like your image. As you point out, the mist adds to an ethereal feel, as well as the motion blur from the car. Dull and somber tones also add to the feel of the shot - a poignant glimpse into a past with no one left living to remember it.
I'm looking forward to more of your work.

Thanks for the views and comments.

Originally a test shot (with my cell phone from a moving car) I made, but didn't get the chance to make it back to do a final shot. I still like the eerie misty almost lomo blurring effect after I resized it to meet the min size for upload and decided to just submit.

Here is the original.

I "collect" the stories that lie behind tombstone carvings too (or groups of them like the memories of Veterans.) My low scoring was due simply on the poor quality of the image (mentioned by others.)

The small frame won't help you. The dull colors, purple fringing, blurred focus.

it adds to the weird mystery of the Shot. A dark figure in the background would be nice, maybe a lower angle.

It all seems very out of focus.

This would have been very nice had it been in focus and a little PP.
I find it a little too blurry, and too small, for my liking.

So long ago that it's all just a blur. ;-) Sorry, couldn't help myself. Serious focus & quality issues here, though.
