This is my interoperation of the challenge. I know the obvious with a subject on a background, but I thought foreground/background worked equally as well, and when I saw the morning fog I thought a water shot would provide me with what I was seeking. Increased the saturation and contrast to pull the gloomy blue's. I'm very happy with the image in that the main focal point that your eyes will naturally be attracted is not in-fact the most interesting part of image, the reflection. I'm not expecting the image to do well however, because my images never do, so i've stopped worrying about that:)

Received a few comments about the "horizon line". I did recognize that during shooting and PP. The issue is the shore-line is not the same as the horizon. If you were to make the shoe line level, the trees would not be vertical, which looks worse. Could be just a fatal flaw in the composition.
One comment spoke to the trees being cut-off, and that's valid, but the comment about the little tree is not since I could not remove it post.
One comment about meeting the challenge requirements, sure its subjective and understand one persons opinion. But in the "Drug" challenge, a ribbon winners was won with "Lighthouses". I guess that's all I'm going to say on that! |

Beautiful, just wished you would have leveled the horizon. I still gave it a 6 but would have given it an 7 or 8. Good luck! |

Love the mood. The tilt doesn't help. |

Lovely shot, not sure if you forgot to straighten the horizon. I don't really think this fits the challenge, but still a photo to be proud of. Already voted. |

I really like the idea of the trees... this would have been good for the double take challenge coming up. There are a few things I am not too keen on, the horizon being tilted, the fact that the entire reflection wasn't included in the shot, and the small tree to the left takes away from the shot (as does the little thing beside the left tree).
I do like the attempt, and the idea... just a few adjustments in my opinion |

Trees are not really the same color as the fog "foreground/background" in my opinion...
it's a pretty picture, but not really what was being asked for in my opinion. |

Watch that horizon. Its fairly tilted but not tilted enough so that it seems a part of the composition. |
