Photographer’s Notes
I haven’t picked up my calendar since January 18th. After the WPL I felt burned out and frankly went through a bit of WPL withdrawal. During WPL I had let a few things get neglected at work. One of my IT suppliers is under performing. And one of the start-up Boards I sit on is dealing with an under-performing CEO.

Shit happens and it tends to come in clumps. And I haven’t made time to shoot and enter here for a couple of months.

But today I dragged my camera out and shot some macro abstracts. I know abstracts tend to do poorly in the voting but I like the forms in this.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

I love the swirly moving textures here, looks like white down or blurred fabric. I especially like that you chose to damn the torpedoes and enter a shot that you knew wasn't likely to do well, but which you liked :-) The graininess does add to the feeling of grit and softness / delicacy, an interesting juxtaposition. Bet it would make a nice print.

Overall a very underrated image, but am glad to see a hefty dose of 6s...so some of us got it!

Feel free to PM me

Susan

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: The harmonics of noise - in oxymoronic challenge to all that is random! This is an image of such dynamism - it almost dances before us. The texture/noise is of course the making of the image; without it, it would be much diminished.

Critical stuff: Not a crowd pleaser - but you already knew that.

Overall: A fine conceptual piece.

Very different. Love the abstractness to this shot. And the grain works as well. :)
