 Taken while skiing in Tignes. I'd paused here for a few moments when a group of skiiers dropped in from above me and then stopped in a nice line almost parallel to where I was. They stayed long enough that I could get my camera out and take a few photos (the purchase of my x100 really is paying out in dividends).

The one thing I truly love about skiing away from the pistes where there are no signs of civilisation, aside from its freedom, is just how vast it reveals the world to be. You can hop on a plane and be at the other end of the world in less than a day, but you never see the world you're passing through - if you were to explore just one mountain totally, it would take a life time.

This is more a comment on your notes, than the photo (though the photo is very nice, as well).
I came to the same notion regarding people flitting about and "seeing" things by flying over them, or going through places in such a quick fashion. I see that the most in people who are obsessed with summitting mountains. I much prefer doing all the routes on a mountain, learning its intricacies, spending time, learning the character of it. I'm glad there are others that are the same.
