Frankly speaking, you should submit a bigger image. DPC allows 640 pixels and personally i like to see that size, it gives a lot to the picture compared to a smaller version.
This picture lacks contrast, is a bit over exposed as well. |

You've probably heard this a lot already, but photos this small are hard to vote on. Just too small for much detail. Also the fence in the foreground is a distraction. Looks like he was after the birds seed! :) |

Great capture. Image is a little small and the color seems a bit flat. |

I like the framing done here, and the birdhouse and fence play an active role in focusing my attention to the deer. For future reference, try to make your submitted photo as large as you can if your camera will support you doing so - max size is 640px, and your pic is 293px on its long side; max file size is 150k, and yours is about 40k. |

You should use the full 640 pixels available... people here tend to vote down a small picture. Also, try playing with contrast and saturation and I think you'll find it a much more compelling image. Good luck in the challenge. |

This is the sort of photo you just show off in the forum, instead of entering in a challenge. It's cool that there was a deer in your yard, but the image poor quality, almost as if it were a phone picture. |

Chalk up another comment on how your image should have fit the maximum dimensions of 640 pixels. Even if you doubled the size of this image, it wouldn't be 640px. That being said, it's hard to look at a thumbnail sized pic. The image is also rather uninteresting and appears to be a candid snapshot of a deer relieving itself. |
