Wow! With only a few hours to go and I decided to have one last look at my entry and found I had entered the wrong image. I was mucking around with this shot I took on the same day, which I'm sure would probably ended up with a higher score:

The problem is the sun does not exist. I created the sun and its effects using dodge and burn. I know the rules clearly state that you cannot create elements that did not exist in the original shot and would have had to ask SC to DQ it if I hadn't found it.

So my entry is not particular good and doesn't clearly show the sunrise (was taken in the morning but the colours you would normally hope for were not there). So my title is trying to shoehorn the image to meet the challenge and I expect many will recognise this and punish accordingly. I made the effort to travel close to 100km with my only chance to catch a sunrise and was not going to skip the challenge because I didn't get what I really wanted. The composition is not great (the ship sailing out of the picture) but I do like the way the ship contrasts against the water and sky. I feel this will probably end up in the low 5's (if I'm lucky).

I love the contrast of half light half dark (sunrise)

Don't see the sunrise/sunset.. but I can see that it's on the left of the frame. Would have liked to had seen it included in the shot, rather than being implied.

It means, since you're in B&W you don't need to worry ;) Nicely composed with good contrast with boat and water, though on my monitor the water is a bit dark.

Red sun in morning, sailors take warning. Red sun at night, sailors delight. If black and white, sailors take flight!!
