 I'm really quite fond of this photo, which means there's a decent chance it will bomb :)
I quite like how the terrain melts into the sky, into the unknown.

Told ya :-). It really does melt into the unknown, I loved this the second I saw it.
Reading Paul's comment, I realize that it was probably the softness that attracted my eye. I think you made all the right choices with this image.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: I really like the smoothness of this image. I also really like how it's difficult to tell whether the scene or the image is black and white. I really like your overall composition too and the slight vignette adds much.

Critical stuff: not much at all

Overall: Beautifully presentation of sublime scene.

This is a very mysterious shot. It's almost as if you cross that barbed wire fence, you won't know what you're walking into or off of. It's definitely intriguing.

Stark, cold, lonely. Good photo which conveys all of this and more. The pole line in the background complements the fence in the foreground.
