I never got around to voting on this challenge so this is the first time I'm seeing this. It's a pity there are so many people on this site who don't understand cricket because this shot is fantastic - it really tells it all! It really should have done better. |

Howzat that Harvey :) A story telling action packed scene. There is nothing static about this image and is a great take. In a sports challenge this would be in the top league as people vote here on DPC. Few people understand cricket and the story never got to them..shame, poor souls :) |

Always nice to see something different entered in FS, and this image (along with the comments) has taugth me something about the game of Cricket. We did have a Cricket league in the town next to us. It was always interesting to drive by and check it out when they were playing. |

Thanks Penny for the advice! The pitch is all over the place and sloping to the right. I was on a tripod, level. The wickets were not placed vertical either. So overall it's an illusion but still a valid comment. I'll keep that in mind in future. |

It doesn't look good for the batsman. Very nicely captured. Focus is spot on |

I can hear "How's that", even now, echoing down the years !! Nice action shot with a relatively low POV. Great to catch all that action, the bails mid air, the young man airborne. But the image does not seem to be horizontal, which is a shame.
I played cricket at school many years ago and vaguely recall that the bat or some part of the body has to be actually "grounded" inside the crease before the bails fall in order to be "not out", so I'm guessing this young man was "out".! |

Very nice clarity. Wonderful moment captured. I just wish the boy in the center was given a better angle. The one at the right is also covered in the eyes. The falling bails, the athletes up in the air, and the heat of the action are all wonderfully captured. 6 from me. |
