 Little Metropolis Lake, right next door to the coal fired TVA Shawnee Steam Plant outside of Paducah. Heavy fog at 100ft kept air movement to a minimum, making all the reflections very sharp and clear. There is latent PCB pollution, they say, and there are signs warning against eating any fish caught...though the birds don't seem to have any problem. It's a nice "Wildlife Viewing Area", within site of smoke stacks...and an easy lunchtime drive.
Picture is only adjusted a bit in levels, and rotated 180deg...the water is up, the sky is down. Gives it a little extra mystery I think.

Thanks, folks, for the kind comments. This really did way better than I expected. It's been a long time coming to get one in the top 10.

This was a salvage shot - I went down to that small lake to try to take a few shots of the power plant through the trees and fog. The water was very high from a heavy storm the day before, so the access to the edge of the lake was set back about 20 feet. I couldn't get down far enough to even glimpse the stacks. But the scene was quite peaceful and the light filtering through the low fog was soft and gentle. The fog was pretty low...just over the trees...and with no wind the water surface was very steady. I only stayed about 10 minutes, took about 15 shots, and this was the first of the batch. It is quite serene and "zen", isn't it?

This was one of my few 10's. There are so many lake reflection pictures on this site, but this one ranks among the best. Well done.

I like this a lot. It almost doesn't look like this is a reflection because it's so detailed, the water is so quiet. It's a wonderful shot, and the color conversion works well.

Gorgeous love the reflecting off the water has an amazing effect i like the colors there soft but blend in well your processing skills are fantastic
