excellent candid portrait - the b&w gives the shadows the emphasis they need and gives more emotion to the image.

You let some "negative capability" into this shot, in other words, you made some irrational decisions that you can't logically explain. jagar + negative capability = awesomeness

This has interesting humor and certainly seems to have a mysterious if not comical story behind it. It sort of has the "waiting for my wife" vibe to it yet so much more.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: Signature soft glowing but sharp toning that has the perfect measure of the scene. A really interesting character and a most interesting backdrop. You really are master of the light though.

Critical stuff: Nothing

Overall: Masterful.

I have liked this all along but it's one that appeals to me more each time I look at it -- the shifting look of the boards is intriguing and of course works perfectly with the title. Well done. Bumping it up a bit.
