Following up, I see your notes concerning my comment about the tilt. I can also see you were using your ultrawide, which explains why you couldn't get it with everything looking level. The distortion inherent in the lens may have been a factor. I do think the original looks more correct, as my eye is drawn to the people and landscape, not the distant ocean horizon. I usually correct my tilt first along a known vertical or horizontal line (if one exists), but then to look right to me if the first approach doesn't come off well. |

I don't know how I missed this during voting, Deb.
I think the image is wonderful. The clouds are fabulous.
I think the title gave you some trouble, since to the uninformed, this would look like Mom is leaving her daughter behind, and the daughter is sad.

I like this - it's so very natural. Love the colortone. I also love how the couple in the distance are kind of framed by Sophia and mom. Was that planned or did you see it after the shot was taken? |

Great interpretation. Ironically, it's this aspect of the composition that prompted the snapshot comments. Thank you Deb!

Ha you got your violin back! And guess what, beaches do tend to slope towards water :) as you say the water level is perfectly straight. |

Aside from the obvious tilt that would have been an easy fix, I like this. A nice pleasant afternoon. |

IMHO, composition could have been better, they are looking aloof. |

I like this. The way there are various people in this photo to setup the depth. And the way the curve of the water matches the curve of the clouds. |

Very well done, but in spite of the nice muted colors, this is still a kind of snapshot, where the people in the background are bothering. |

I like the effect the clouds give out in the image good sharpness i feel the mother and daugther could have been positioned better in the image i think the couple in the B/G are annoying too the image and i think you would have been better later in the day maybe early evening you can capture lovely sunsets and have a good moody feel too it ..Well done |

Beautiful. The clouds are wispy, which make the shot that much more appealing. Great lighting, beautiful candid shot. |
