I found this, and thought that it would create some lively debate.
I would include the birthday photo of Einstein, and of course this one:

It appears, from the photos in that list, that the major impact of photography in past years was to record death and destruction, which is how human history works, and it seems to be what makes news. Photos freeze those moments in time, though the surviving subjects as well as the ones who died, continue to their destiny, and become a bit of history recorded by brave and insightful photographers who happened to be there, by choice or accident. Maybe the link should be titled "Incredible photojournalistic photos". In the day when they were published, a photo of someone being killed was quite unusual, and shocking. It seems to be the norm now.

Then there are the shot's that they refused to release for fear of fuelling the conspiracy theories . .

Worryingly there are those that would have no issue with the sheep 'wandering onto the set' but would ernestly tell you that the astronaut is a fake . . lol
