Hi,
I am in need a new UV filter, and am after any tips or suggestions as to which one to buy and how much to spend. There are too many to choose from
On Ebay they range from $3 to over $100 (Aust dollars)
I have a Canon 24-105 L and a 70-200 L lens.
I shot a fair bit down the beech, as well as general people shots. Not so much into landscapes and the like.
Any clues.
Thanks
Craig

If you shoot in conditions that *demand* protection, then get a good UV filter. Make sure it is double-coated.
If you don't shoot in very adverse environments, then use the lens hood as your protection. A UV filter will always have a small, but real effect on image quality. |

Lad,
I have the EF24-105 f/4 L IS USM and tried the Canon 77mm UV haze filter and have contact problems with the filter and the front glass. Canon recomends the 77mm uv haze 1 filter. The only place I can find the haze 1 is directly from Canon. It seems strange to me that I am the first one to notice the contact on a nearly ten year old lens. Maybe my lens is stacked-up wrong. Anyway I,ll be researching my issue and it may help you decide on a filter.
