I will never enter another flower picture, I will never enter another flower picture, I will never enter another flower picture

AND THIS TIME I MEAN IT!

I will. I think they're purdy. :)

I will enter another flower, I will enter another flower, I will enter another flower, and if you don't like it well then you don't have to look at it. =o)

I never use to shoot flowers but I'm starting to like it. I may not always enter them in DPC, but sometimes I will!

I will only shoot flowers in context of adding to something else. How's that?

I gave up!

I can't get the damn things to hold still.

I love taking pictures of flowers but they never seem to fit the challenges. I usually come back from every trip with 4 or 5 new pictures of flowers. Now if we could have a flower challenge I have enough experience taking them to get a good one.

Cut flowers. Indoors. No wind.

I've got to agree with this, actually. The reason isn't that I don't think flowers are pretty. They certainly are the most naturally photogenic subjects around. But I hate looking at so many of them so often. And I feel bad when I start to get angry and give lower scores than they deserve.

The problem is that I will vote it lower than I should! And I don't want to do that Anna, I really don't. Your flower shots are quite lovely. Don't force my hand on this one. :-)

I will never enter another electric banana if I want to win.
I will never enter another electric banana if I want to win.
I will never enter another electric banana if I want to win.
I will never enter another electric banana if I want to win.
I will never enter another electric banana if I want to win.
I will never enter another electric banana if I want to win.
I will never enter another electric banana if I want to win... ad infinitum.

Can we get every member to promise to never enter a "banana in the bum" shot again? LOL :o) (just a joke if you see this Mundi!)

I will never beat some poor unsuspecting bee over the head to knock him out to stick him on a flower for a macro shot again...

whew that was long enough no need to repeat it.

I got here kind of late in the conversation, so not sure what everyone is talking about. But I have a pretty photo you just MUST see.

Nothing wrong with flower shots, they just don't score well here. My guess is, they are pretty easy to take so it has to be pretty spectacular to get someone to vote high on it.

Its a Space Flower! I like it! Its kind of like my space guitar!

Since I just entered my first flower shot in 45 challenges, I refuse to appologize. :) Besides, I'm covered by the "another" clause - I didn't enter "another" flower picture - so if you voted a flower low because it's "another" flower, go back and re-vote. ;)

I, for one, love many flower shots and am amazed by the quality and originality of the flower shots here. I actually score higher for many, knowing they had to really be exceptional to stand out so. I love to take them, too - they are always refreshing to view. BUT, I admit -- I don't enter them here (1) Mine aren't THAT good, and (2) while I don't enter to win, I am a wimp at probably not wanting all the "another flower" comments! LOL).

I understand about not wanting the flowers, but in this picture I was trying to get the fly and the flower snuck in behind it, so really it's a fly picture.

I am with ScottK. I just entered my first flower photo. I completely understand the frame of mind behind what crabappl3 is saying, I get sick of looking at flowers often too, but if the photo fits the challenge (I mean REALLY fits, not the warped sense of justification some have) a flower shot should be considered as much as any other entry.

What I don't get is all the pictures of dandelions on this site. There are at least three in the multiple light source challenge and I have seen many more. Here in Australia they are considered a weed, which makes it even more peculiar to me.

Here too dendalions are evrywhere, preety boreing stuff. Then again even if a dendalion or a flower is beautiful I consider it mother nature's art and the photographer just a button pusher, unless the photographer's work is obvious. And in this I don't mean expensive macro lenses, or other tehnical issues, photography to me is not about spending money, but vision and something interesting in the composition, a story, a different aproach angle or anything like that. Most of the times I'm disgusted with most of flower shots however I do have one in my favorites.
