Are there any websites where I can hire an amateur/hobbyist photographer to take pictures of subjects that I am requesting?

I hope no one feels that I am being insulting by referring to someone an "amateur" photographer. I am merely distinguishing between someone that does photography as a full-time vocation.

Micro sites are built around this idea basically.

Lookup stock photography site in google, or just as what you want here and someone may be willing to work out a deal.

I have already searched several stock photography sites but none of them had images I was looking for.

What is a micro site? Can you give me a example?

Why don't you post what you are looking for and someone may step up to the plate.

Ron, not knocking you, but your new here, your best bet is say exactly what you want, and exactly what you plan to use it for, you might find us more receptive.

A couple of UK based places where you can do this are //www.photographers.co.uk/ and //www.photographersdirect.com/. Not sure where you are based or if it matters for your needs.

the easiest way is to simply post your request in a simple thread, like this:

Subject: Photo(s) Needed, Will Pay!

Body: I need one or more photos of spoons, isolated from their background to use for a blog posting about spoons. I have a budget of $50. It doesn't matter to me how old the image is, as long as I can use it. It's not super urgent, but I do need it by the end of the month (the sooner, the better). Either post your suggestion here, or send me a PM. Thanks!

-----------------------------------------

There have been a few people to make request similar to this (and I've actually made a few bucks, fulfilling their requests). The main thing is to give people a clear an idea as to what you need...AND, pay them if you do use something.

Good luck!

Custom Ad Art was set up to do this, but they were still in beta and there hasn't been much action for a couple of months, so I'm not sure if they're still in business, or within your budget. You'd pretty much have to follow the same steps Skip outlined previously.

Looked like an interesting concept, but it does seem like it's fallen flat. I noticed a couple of shots by Dirt_Diver in there. :-)
