The Papa Johns in my home town is now called PJ's. The Pizza and Sandwiches actually got better when they changed the name. |

Papa Johns doesnt even serve pizza. They serve some sort of bready dough with cheese and gravy on it. If you want pizza, you go to a pizzeria. |

For me, the best pizza has always been from the mom & pop places. Only chain pizza that I really like a lot is Pizza Inn. The others are just ok. |

Growing up I thought pizza was from Papa Johns and Little Ceasars. My first trip to a real pizzeria was a pleasant surprise to say the least. |

I used to put up with Papa John's because my husband likes it. We had a pizza delivered and the center half was raw dough. I almost puked it was so disgusting. My husband got the PJ manager on the phone & told him that the dough in the center wasn't cooked, the manager's response was, "But sir, we don't have dough in our pizzas." :-/
ps...had to laff @ Dirt Diver!

If you are lucky enough to live near one:
Beau Jo's
I had my first mountain pie when I was nine in Idaho Springs (the original). I thought it was the greatest thing ever (until I discovered girls). I still think its the second greatest thing ever. I've eaten at all but the Denver and Arvada locations.
Drooling just thinking about it- guess I know where I am headed for lunch.

The best pizza in the world is Johnny's Pizza....Anyone from North Louisiana should know of it. I have travelled the world looking for better pizza and can't find it....I have even eaten Chicago pizza and it doesn't compare.

I remember my first pie at Beau Jo's, it was awesome. We had one in Parker, CO for a while but it was just not the same and did not last that long. I will always go to the original Beau Jo's from now on. |

Go find a pizzeria instead of buying that prefabricated junk that Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, Dominos and other mass produced fast food joints pump out.
For the best: Pepe's New Haven, CT. Nuff said...

Wasn't there some legal issues about the Parker Beau Jo's? Specifically it wasn't a true Beau Jos' they had used the name and the products, but hadn't lived up to their franchise obligations. |
