Am I correct in my understanding that HDR is when you merge (in post processing) 2 or more images?
I know that you adjust the exposure/bracketing/etc settings in camera for each image to get different ranges in each photograph.
But I'm unclear on two things:
1. I believe my camera (Nikon D90) has the ability to capture a single image (RAW?) with two exposures in it, I have to 'RTM' to see how to do so, but would the resultant capture be an HDR photograph?
2. What this means (if it is 2+ images merged) for the current Challenge of HDR - are we allowed to use 2 images? |

1. Not necessarily (most likely not since that option is for multiple exposure). It will depend on whether you can control the exposure of each image in the set independantly of each other.
2. It's advanced editing, so yes

Thanks  cpanaioti - I think the multiple exposure aspect was adding to the confusion... |

| You can also do HDR from one RAW image and just process the RAW into three or five different exposures and then tone map those in a program like PS or Photomatix. |
