I had asked a question a few weeks ago about what camera and such I should go with. I went ahead and ordered the camera from Walmart and decided that if my Finepix 3800 was good enough I would just send the new camera back. I talked to the instructor today and he did indeed say that my camera isn't good enough for the class. Reason being is that it doesn't have adjustable shutter speed.

So the Canon EOS XSi that I purchased will be staying in my possession. I didn't buy any other lenses since they aren't needed at this time. I did however buy a UV Filter to help protect the lens and an extra battery.

I hope to start submitting photos soon to the site with my new camera. Just need to get used to all of it's features since they are pretty much all brand new to me.

Now you have over 300 settings combinations to enable you to foul up an otherwise awesome shot.
Enjoy the new gadget, and don't be afraid of messing up anything by learning how it works. It took me about a year to learn most of the choices that I have to make with the Fuji S3 to get what I want from it. You will love that the shutter works when you push the button.

You'll like it. I have the Xt, which is two generations older, but they are still very similar.
