Pretty sure I know the answer but I thought I'd make sure.

I've found what I believe to be a pretty good deal on a portable printer, but I shoot Nikon. Am I going to have compatibility problems if I get it?

ETA didn't finish the title apparently... should be nikon camera / cannon printer.

Even if it works, it's still incestuous.

I doubt you will have any compatibility issues, especially if you print from your computer.

If you do print directly from your camera, both Canon and Nikon use PictBridge

As opposed to what -- a Nikon printer?

I'm not sure if I believe this is a serious question? ;)

haha, actually the really funny part is that it was a serious question. There was an inkling in my head that there might be something I was missing and that they might not be. Admittedly though, I was curious to see the reaction.

not if the Canon Printer has been tuned to Nikon F-Mount. ;-)

Seriously though, I have a Canon ip5300 and it prints beautifully from my Fuji S3 files.
Just make sure you buy paper that is compatible with your specific printer (Canon paper is expensive but mostly the best choice).

The only problems I ever had were that he canon printers print in metric, while the Nikon camera takes pics in Standard. So you have to get a USB cord with a standard on one end and metric on the other. Make sure you get the Standard to Metric and not the other way around or else you will have real issues.

Hee Hee.

I shoot a Nikon camera and print onto Canon paper with an HP printer.

No explosions.....so far....

I shoot canon, print on Canon printers, but use some canon, mostly Epson, and some Ilford paper. Never had any issues, and I have sun tested some prints on all three papers with no difference in the results. As long as you profile the paper and print accordingly you should be OK.

It's been theorized that if you take a photo of a Nikon camera, while using a Canon camera, with a Sigma lens, on a Lexar memory card, download it to a Sony computer, develop it in Lightroom, then print it with an HP printer, on Canon paper, scan it into an Apple computer, using a Canon scanner, and edit it in Aperture... that the entire universe will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

(Apologies to Mr. Adams.)

I remember this theory, but got too confused by the time I got to Canon camera! And then, I found that place that was more bizarre and inexplicable, I found DPC Universe and now I am trapped in a Wormhole here!

Oh yeah, and watch the time zone differences. Euro time vs American time will make all sort of problems.
