So.....I'm driving to work this morning, and as I'm going through the last light before I get to work, I see this car sitting in the turn lane with the front and rear all but obliterated by nylon/canvas covers.
TEST MULE!!!!!
Well, seeing as how I'm both a car freak & a photog and always have my camera with, I naturally performed a completely legal u-turn across four lanes and dove into the Dunkin' Donuts where this car was in the drive-thru. You can tell by the look on the guy's face in the third shot that he figured out what I was up to.....8>)

I even got the third shot decently enough that you can see the California tag. Anybody recognize it as a manufacturer's tag?
Anybody know what it is????

Looks like a VW Jetta to me, going by the general size, light enclosures, and front grill...

Nissan was my initial reaction also to these...then I though...maybe Saab...then I wondered if they even still made cars. |

Its like a new design of the Nissan Sentra 94 95 years with the front angle piece of the grill! |

Well, it has California plates, which presumably means it's a mule of a company whose US affiliate/branch/whatever is based in California, which tends to suggest it's a Japanese mule... Jeb being in Pennsylvania and all...

I dunno....the window & roofline is all wrong, the rear underpanel & exhaust is pretty different than anything I've seen, and unless this ia a major redo, the front is all wrong.
Look at the bumper protrusions below the headlights......the grille does drop below the bumper a la A4, but.....
The thing just sits differently than an Audi.....
Maybe a major restyle?

HUH??? Did you look at the link? Anyhow. That's an Audi grill reguardless. That looks like a current model Audi A4. LOOK AT THE LINK:

Look at the bumper protrusions below the headlights... LOL Those are fake pads. The rear deck too. It's a current or slighty updated A4. They are coming out with a new A1 but this isn't it. |

I looked and agree with the others...the car Jeb spotted doesn't look anything like this Audi. |

Why didn't you just get out of your car and go over and strike up a conversation with the driver? That would have given you ample time to have a look at the tag on the steering wheel. LOL |

I think your right.. I just compared to pictures of my Jetta.. (which I can't post because my membership expired) and the grill matches.. side windows match. Some things are different...but that's expected for a face lift on a car. I wouldn't say jetta for sure.. tires are wider, which hints more power.. maybe a passat.

the part where the tag would be on the front of the car does not match what VW would do. they don't put anything behind the big VW tag! |

no making and official guess but the reverse lights in the taillights are similar to what honda likes to do, esp with the civic... |

Could just be an undercover police car parked outside a donut shop.

Definitely not an Audi. Looks a bit like a Vauxhall (sold as Saturns over there) but I cant work out what model as the exhaust outlets are an odd shape. |

The exhausts with a triangular section, recessed like that, say Honda Civic to me. However, overall shape-wise; the 2011 Chevrolet Cobalt might be a contender. See this link:
