Ok, you've shown us you first and last photos that you marked as favs. Now pick you favorite photo that you've marked as a fav.
there's something about the colors and the softness of this one that I absolutely love |

At the risk of being boringly predictable, my considered favourite is:
The flat out commitment to the image carries the day.

larus you blow my mind. i LOVE the expression, the hair, the sharpeness the lighting everything about this image. and the strange part is, its black and white (i tend to favor brightly colored pictures). if i were to describe this picture in one word it would be elemental. it really gives me a sense of a willingness to trust the earth; which one must do whether or not he/she wants to. |

Just been sorting through favourites and stumbled on this excellent thread.
Of all the photos I have fav'd - this is the one that I think about most often:

There are about 15 that I dearly love, though. But this is one of my all time favorites. |

Gosh I love all my fav's - just browsing through them then makes me want to shout out to everyone to go look at what I've found - GRIN!
But this one just 'speaks' to me - can't say why...
Just wanted to mention too that so many of my 'fav's' - as in the people who created them have left the building - and that's SO SAD! |

Well, that's an impossible task; I favorite things for so many reasons, things in so many niches. But this is one of the ones I keep "remembering", it has stuck with me for quite a while now, mentally:
Another one like that is JJ's immortal "Eye Contact", but why bother mentioning that here when it has umpteen-gazillion faves already? (wink)

Fantastic. I was there last summer and none of my shots look like this. |

This physically hurts me every time I look at it, yet I had to fave it.
I'm 54 years old, and I have more friends on that wall than I want to think about. I avoided going there for a long, long time, and when I finally did make the journey, it was almost more than I could take.
So much loss of life for no good reason whatsoever.....and it hits so much harder when people you know and love are taken from you.
This is one of the most powerful images I have ever seen.
That said, another image that affected me quite deeply, and pretty much was the first occasion to show me how incredible the people at DPC truly are was this one.....
Sean became my mentor shortly after I wtrote him expressing my complete awe and how much that image affected me at the time. He made an incredible difference in me as a photographer, both from a technical perspective and a philosophical one as well.
It truly amazes me how incredibly gifted people on this site are.
It means so much to me that people can bare their souls like this, and get their message across so stunningly.
As a side note.......I am amused to point out that if you add the ages of these two incredibly insightful photogs together, it's *still* less years than I have accumulated.
There's something truly beautiful in that, too.
I'm proud to call both of these incredibly gifted people my friends.

It might be this one for me. Candid, yet composed exquisitely. And what a story!

This was my very first Fav...Liberty has inspired me and helped me to grow...if it hadn't of been for her I wouldn't know about this site and all the wonderful people on here. Ya'll are so very inspiring and many have befriended me and I thank you for that...a few have made me gasp, but overall more of you have made me smile and feel welcome...
and this is the 2nd picked fav...
this was when I realized that I could take an "ordinary picture" and make it "extraordinary" (with a boat load of learning involved...working on it...)

I have more than one. But that is one. Plus the photographer's comments on the photo are the best I've seen. |
