Anybody interested in going on a photo tour of lake caddo? The cost is $100 for 2 people, and they run you around the lake to all the hot spots for 3 hours. I was thinking an early sunrise or sunset run. Maybe the 2nd weekend of July..which would be the 11th. If more than 2 people are interested then we could take a different tour.. I think these guys only run 2 people at a time.

Here's the link. Caddo Lake Tours They have smaller packages that give 1, 1.5, and 2 hour tours that cost less. But there is several companys that offer tours here. Or if someone has a boat they are willing to bring out... that would be ideal=)

Caddo Lake is an awesome place. My grandmother grew up on the lake near Mooringsport, Louisiana in the 1920's, she used to say she remembered going to school in a canoe with older siblings. If you drive LA-1 up from Shreveport, there's an oilwell on the right about 1/2 mile or so before the Caddo Lake bridge. My family's place was the dirt driveway on the right just past that well.

I moved away from Shreveport in 1994 but at that time there were bald eagles nesting on the lake near Mooringsport... eagles or not, it's a magical place and there is lots to photograph. Anyone in the area should consider going.

I'm game for whenever... just threw that date to get the idea out there.

There are several different tour companys that will run you around on a boat.. I just picked one to post up. We can choose the best one to suit our needs depending on time spent, and how many people want to go.

If you want to shoot around the Shreveport/Bossier area, you might want contact the Shreveport Photographic Society //spsclub.smugmug.com/ They sometimes plan outings to different areas, share ideas and learn from one another. I have met a few of the members and all have been nice and love to share ideas and techniques.
