I miss the little counter as I vote telling me how many images out of the total I've voted on already...
Is it going to be added back?
:)

Counter where? If you mean in the top-right of the homepage, it's kinda hard to fit more than one challenge in there...

We'll have to add it to the voting page... good call :)

I also liked very much having the bright red "don't forget to vote on 20%" on the front page. Is there room for that somewhere?

Yes, it's something we'll add. :)

We got that. :)
We got the counter too, but it's on the vote page. Soon it'll be in a stats box on the homepage on the left... :)

Um...
I just been asked to vote on my own submission.
OOPS!
I am resisting giving it a 10 and skipping it...
Also I found the >> skip buttons a little too subtle to notice - had to have them pointed out to me!

Drew - Langdon - and all the people who helped to bring forth DPC2, you did a superb job of work.
Please continue to identify commenters during voting - it discourages the few misfits, trolls, and just plain jerks. It is a great feature on this site. |

OK
Now I can't vote on my own pic but it's still showing...
BUT I also can't skip past it as there aren't any >> thingies...

I am also having trouble with the randomising in that now i have done first round voting and it's listing images by rating - each time i go in the images within the rating have been randomised again.
this is driving me crazy and is enough to put me off refining my votes again which i usually do twice - so they aint gonna be as accurate.
is this deliberate?
:)

Guys,
I really want to congratulate all of you involved in DPC2 Great Work. The only thing which I miss, and think was fair, was for the 1st. place picture to be bigger that the 2nd. and 3rd.
Anyways, my 2 cents.
Congrats!!!!

I, like Kavey, am getting "stuck" at my own submission - after each comment I make, it goes to my photo. I have go up and click on "BLUE" to get back to the thumbnails to do my commenting. Am I missing something, or doing something wrong??

How about a counter on age? My Profile will only let me go to dec. 31 1969 that is the year I graduated from high school--good years they were--keep up the good work--I know that you will have bugs |

deliberate, yes. our choice, no. sadly mysql didn't support unions and the rand function couldn't be seeded correctly. in english this means that we couldn't get the same random order each time. when mysql4 goes final we will probably set it up and have unions available to us. until them, i'm sorry. =[

This is something that should be fixed tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I'm just glad you all are back. This is my favorite site on the whole internet. Looks great. For now, if I found going back to the challenge would get me away from my entry. Though it would have helped if I could have voted on it. It's tanking big time.

On the voting thumbnails page, (after you have already voted) if you click the little piece of paper icon, a popup box for commenting appears and you can leave a comment from here. This is nifty for saving time loading pages all the time, and you can comment on every singe image in a challenge without having to re-load the loooong voting page at all!

Thank you Konador !! I didn't realize this, and it is very convenient.
Langdon- thank you so much for the reply; didn't really consider it an inconvenience, just didn't know if it was supposed to be like that - after reading Konador's post, I tried the commenting again, and the "pop-up" comment box is awesome! You guys have done a wonderful job.
Thanks, Linda

That's OK - if it had been a deliberate choice for no technical reason I could pout but with such an explanation I'll just grin at you instead!

I think it would also be interesting if there could be a section with an indication of the total numbers of each type of digital camera that was used by the entrants. That way we could get an idea which cameras are most popular and spot trends. Lnede |

When I click on a thumbnail to bring it up to vote, one or more of the numbers has already changed from blue to red! Why? And does this mean the system regards that as a previous vote by me? |

Question - how do I instruct the system to show the most recent post on the top of the page, instead of at the bottom. |

at the top of the page (upper right before the first post) click on "reverse" and it will change the order of the posts |
